Continuous learning
As you near the end of your postgraduate coursework degree, reflect on how confident you feel about the University's desired Graduate Attributes. Compare your competence now with that at the beginning of the course and imagine how much more confident you'll be in five years if you continue to apply the skills and habits you've developed.
Continuous learning is about the ability to learn to learn - it doesn't have to be done in a series of courses, rather it's what you've embarked upon for the rest of your life. The most important ways to engage in continuous learning are to:
- do something in the world, constantly applying new information and ideas;
- take time to inquire and reflect on your experiences; and
- keep testing assumptions and thinking critically.
We have an innate desire to endlessly learn, grow and develop. We want to become more than what we already are. Once we yield to this inclination for continuous and never-ending improvement, we lead a life of endless accomplishments and satisfaction.
