Thesis Proposals

The form of your proposal for a minor thesis or project will vary significantly between faculties, schools and even departments. However, the following are elements commonly found in proposals (though not necessarily all of the below):

• proposed title
• summary of the area or topic to be researched
• literature review
• proposed direction or aim of the thesis
• proposed references and perhaps a partially annotated bibliography
• proposed methodology
• proposed section or chapter outline
• proposed schedule for research and completion
